Biography[]

Not much is known about Walter besides the fact that he is the brother of Vilmer and Leather. He seems to have an affinity for quoting famed historical figures.

Trivia[]

  • Due to the alternate timelines of the series, the presence of W.E Sawyer, Sally Hardesty-Enright, and Grandpa Sawyer in The Next Generation seem to contradict Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3.
    • According to Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3, W.E. was the only member of the family caught and executed for the 1973 massacre. However, The Next Generation retcons this detail by stating that no family members were caught, explaining his appearance.
    • Grandpa Sawyer's appearance is entirely unexplained. He previously died in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and appeared as a corpse in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3. It is possible that they are separate characters entirely.
    • Sally Hardesty was said to have died in a mental institution in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3. However, when Jenny survived the massacre in The Next Generation, she was sent to the same hospital and Sally is seen alive. It is possible that they are separate characters entirely.
  • The sign of the original gas station in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre reads "WE SLAUGHTER BARBEQUE", it is assumed that Kim Henkel based W.E's name on it (not confirmed).
  • Given the multiple timelines of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies, it is possible that W.E Slaughter actually is the same character as Drayton Sawyer. The "Henkel" timeline only consists of the original movie, The Return/Next Genneration and possible the movie The Butcher boys. The character W.E Slaughter looks and acts different then Drayton, but some evidence is there. Kim Henkel has confirmed while working with the creators of the video game, that the cooks original name was W.E Slaughter. Kim Henkel originally called the movie The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, wanting it to be the true continuation of the original movie. They even asked Jim Siedow to reprise the role, but he declined. W.E Slaughter also says the line: Look what your brother did to the door! Later the studio changed it to Next Generation, adding to the confusion.
