- The reason the family in the game are called "Slaughter" is because this was the original planned family name in the original 1974 film, as the surname "Sawyer" was only coined in the film’s sequel.
- Leatherface is not provided an official name other than “Leatherface”.
- The 2023 game is the first time the entire family has been simultaneously present in a video game.
- Johnny, Nancy, and Hands are new entries to the franchise; neither have been present in any prior iteration of the Slaughter family.
- Sissy was an idea in the original 1974 Texas Chain Saw Massacre character book, but never made it on screen.
- Bones was created as a stand-in for Chop Top, as the creators of the game were unable to obtain the rights to his character. He is still voiced by Chop Top's actor, Bill Moseley.
