- The reason the family in the game are called "Slaughter" is because this was the original planned family name in the original 1974 film, as the surname “Sawyer” was only coined in the film’s sequel.
- Leatherface is not provided an official name other than “Leatherface”.

- Johnny and Nancy are both new entries to the franchise; neither have been present in any prior iteration of the Slaughter family.
