Danny Gaines is a playable character in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre game.
In-game description[]
Danny grew up severely disadvantaged, bouncing between numerous foster homes before finally landing with a proper caretaker. After meeting Maria, the two connected deeply, becoming nearly inseparable. Heartbroken and devastated that he didn't accompany Maria on her wildflower trip, Danny headed towards Newt, Texas immediately after her disappearance, refusing to wait for the others. His Study and Tamper ability, which lets him identify and examine important objects around the property, will be crucial to not only his, but the entire group's survival.
Personality[]
Despite his rough exterior, Danny is described to be intelligent and caring. His rough exterior is a reflection of his troubled upbringing and childhood.
Appearance[]
Danny has neck-length brown hair and blue eyes. He sports a light stubble. As a result of having met the Slaughter Family, he has a cut above his left eyebrow, and severe bruising on his neck, wrists, and hands.
Danny wears a long-sleeved, blue and white T-shirt with the letters "DRWG" printed on the front. He also wears jeans with rips at the knees, and light brown shoes. His clothes are visibly dirty.
Lore[]
Danny experienced a rocky childhood in foster care, having been moved from home to home countless times before finally landing one fit to care for him.
In his search for clues on his missing girlfriend's whereabouts, he arrived at Nancy's doorstep, where he was invited inside and attacked by her and her Family.
Abilities[]
Danny's ability is called Study and Tamper. in order to tamper an exit, Danny would have to study his surroundings and gain knowledge, once he has enough knowledge he could tamper an exit (valve and fusebox). Tampering with an object causes irreversible changes to it.

- The inspiration for Danny's backstory was the Gladney Center for Adoption in Fort Worth, Texas, a location creative director Ronnie Hobbs visited and researched.
